Hello,

This will be a great oportunity for those new or kind of new to the world of Opera to enjoy a performance of a great opera masterpiece at the Met, PucciniŽs opera "Madama Butterfly".

This is an event specially planned for BEGINNERS!

JOINT EVENT with members of The New York Opera Meetup - have fun with us and meet a lot of new people!

Madama Butterfly is sung in italian (all seats at the Met have individual screens with English subtitles), combines gorgeous melodies, great dramatic action and a very interesting production at the Met Opera. You will be delighted by this great masterpiece, whether this is your first time watching this opera or not.

INTRODUCTORY TALK (30 min approx.) FREE

WeŽll meet and get to know each other inside the Metropolitan Opera, at the basement level, at 7.00 pm, on November 11th, 2008. Just walk in through the revolving door at the Met Opera entrance (see red dot on the Lincoln Center Map below), and walk straight 10 yards: there will be a stairs down RIGHT IN FRONT of you, please go downstairs. As soon as you cross the glass doors, you will find us by the Chase ATM machine right there, canŽt miss it.

Please note that the pre-opera talk is outside the ticket area, very near the parking lot and at the basement area.

IF THE AREA IS CLOSED - ALTERNATIVE PLACE: find us just outside the revolving door, very close, in the square (north of the door).

Talk will start at 7.15 pm, I will be glad to introduce all who attend to the Met history and the opera season, operas and this opera in particular.

I was so frustrated to have hurt my ankle just an hour before we were to meet up. Since Duane Reade had no canes, there was little I could do but go home before it got worse. I'm glad that eveyone had a good time; just wish I could've been part of it!
