Based on the results of our MAKING MEET UPS BETTER SURVEY, we've chosen our next show!

Tickets went so fast for everything I could get in the Rear Mezzanine, but people kept requesting, so I was able to get a VERY LIMITED AMOUNT of amazing Row D and E center Front Mezzanine seats for $119.(That covers the paypal costs and is STILL cheaper than the box office!

Many of you said you'd be willing to pay extra for great seats, and those first rows in the front mezzanine are my personal favorite place to see this great dance spectacular!

We'll meet at Planet Hollywood for food, goodies & tickets at 6PM!

Plus! Meet the creators of the show, win cool stuff & eat great Planet Hollywood food!

TURN UP THAT DIAL! From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, by way of hit runs at the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre, comes a hot new Broadway musical -- inspired by actual events -- with heart, soul and energy to burn. He’s a young, white radio DJ named Huey Calhoun (Chad Kimball), whose love of music transcends race lines and airwaves. She’s a black singer named Felicia Farrell (Montego Glover), whose career is on the rise, but who can’t break out of segregated clubs. When the two collaborate, her soulful music reaches radio audiences everywhere, and the Golden Era of early rock ‘n’ roll takes flight. But as things start to heat up, whether the world is really ready for their music - or their love - is put to the test.

Get ready to experience all the exuberance and the emotion...the beauty and the controversy...of a wondrous, defining time in our history.
You’re tuning in to MEMPHIS.

This rocked off-broadway and it rocked all the way to a Tony Nomination! I loved this at New World Stages, but have yet to see it since it transferred. Rear Mezzanine seats are only $49 and you can drink in your seats!! Seemed like our perfect next summer Broadway excursion for the meet up group!

Here's the synopsis:
In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA’s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80s. It’s ROCK OF AGES, an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of JOURNEY, NIGHT RANGER, STYX, REO SPEEDWAGON, PAT BENATAR, TWISTED SISTER, POISON, ASIA, WHITESNAKE and many more. Don’t miss this awesomely good time about dreaming big, playing loud and partying on!

I saw this in the park last summer and it was amazing! Apparently, the rave reviews the show and young cast got last summer still apply in the Hirschfeld. I've a set of tickets in the mezzanine (and the cast comes and hangs out in the mezz!) for $52 each and I'd love to get a group together and go on a fun Saturday matinee.

I have some friends in the cast who may come say hello to us afterwards as well! Let me know if you're interested in joining this cheap fun summer Broadway trip!

Hello,

This will be a great oportunity for those new or kind of new to the world of Opera to enjoy together a funny opera at the Met, Donizetti´s "L´Elisir d´Amore".

L´Elisir is one of Donizetti´s 3 top operas, it has very charming music and a funny story, the perfect component to have a great time!. It is also kind of short (about 2 hours of music).

And this performance has 2 of the biggest Met stars in the cast: Angela Gheorghiu and Rolando Villazón.

L´Elisir is sung in italian (all seats at the Met have individual screens with English subtitles).

This is an event specially planned for BEGINNERS and a joint event with some members of The New York Opera Meetup.

INTRODUCTORY TALK (30 min approx.) - FREE

We´ll meet and get to know each other inside the Metropolitan Opera, at the basement level, at 7.00 pm, on March 31st, 2009. Just walk in through the revolving door at the Met Opera entrance (see red dot on the Lincoln Center Map below), and walk straight 10 yards: there will be a stairs down RIGHT IN FRONT of you, please go downstairs. As soon as you cross the glass doors, you will find us by the Chase ATM machine right there, can´t miss it.

Please note that the pre-opera talk is outside the ticket area, very near the parking lot and at the basement area.

Talk will start at 7.15 pm, I will be glad to introduce all who attend to the Met history and the opera season, operas and this opera in particular.

Red dot indicates revolving door entrance to the Met Opera:

A group of interconnected, Baltimore-based twenty- and thirtysomethings navigate their various relationships from the shallow end of the dating pool through the deep, murky waters of married life, trying to read the signs of the opposite sex--and hoping to be the exceptions to the "no-exceptions" rule. Gigi just wants a man who says he'll call--and does--while Alex advises her to stop sitting by the phone. Beth wonders if she should call it off after years of committed singlehood with her boyfriend, Neil, but he doesn't think there's a single thing wrong with their unmarried life. Janine's not sure if she can trust her husband, Ben, who can't quite trust himself around Anna. Anna can't decide between the sexy married guy, or her straightforward, no-sparks standby, Conor, who can't get over the fact that he can't have her. And Mary, who's found an entire network of loving, supportive men, just needs to find one who's straight
